Behind the enhanced performance of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x 2025 is Titleist’s industry-leading golf ball research team of over 75 highly qualified employees from a wide range of fields and degrees in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerodynamics, Physics, Statistics, and Mathematics.
Golf ball tests are continuously conducted at the Titleist Performance Center on Manchester Lane in Acushnet, Massachusetts, and at the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California. Approximately 20,000 pieces of data are collected on a typical day, more than 5 million per year. Titleist employees observe every shot to provide accurate and reliable data.
More than 1,700 golf ball patents on the walls of the research and development department testify to an unparalleled level of innovation and intellectual property in the field of golf balls.
A total of 34 patents were applied for the development of the original Pro V1 alone.
Over 125 patents have been implemented into the next generations of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
Since the introduction of the original Pro V1, the Titleist research team has developed, produced, and tested over 2,500 dimple samples. Each Titleist golf ball model features a unique dimple pattern that optimizes flight.
